Kwesi Awotwi is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Hackney, East London. He graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University with a BA Hons in Film, Television and Radio studies and studied at Met Film School, Ealing, West London. He also studied fine art for four years with London Fine Art Studios after university before picking up a camera again and returning to working with moving imagery. Kwesi is known for his short film “Tree of Roots” which was selected for the “Aesthetica Film Festival 2021”.

Since graduation from film school, Kwesi's aim as a writer and director has been to tell stories from an artistic disposition. He expresses in his work, his personal experiences and opinions of what it means to be Black British and from a Ghanaian heritage through his art and storytelling.
